Topic: trouble with transferring Cache mainly Transferring to new computer
I am trying to transfer to a new computer from old. I have followed instructions but having issues with the cache. My old computer had virtual dj in the User/micha/Documents/Virtualdj/cache but my new computer has User/LocalAdmin/AppData/local/Virtualdj
I transferred music to same folder from Old computer to New (no problems)
I transferred Karaoke to Same Drive as Old comptuer (No problem)
I followed instructions and finally found my "hidden" AppData folder, where my data, mappers, Playlist etc are located
My New computer is not finding my cache which I placed in the same folder as Old computer.

I know this is a lot and I've tried my best to follow the tutorials. I believe a lot of my issues are because I was using an older version of VDJ on old computer (which saved everthing in Documents folder and now it's the new version.
I'm willing to uninstall VDJ if necessary.
I made a current backup restore and thought it had worked well till I tried to play a cache song.
(PS , is there any way I can get a fresh list of my cached songs? )

Thanks in advance for all your help. Your support is the reason I stress to other DJs to purchase this software.

I'm just wanting my show backup computer to be like my current show computer in case of damage or failure. I would like to be able to install Virtual dj in the Documents/ Virtual dj folder but it's no longer there. Could I possibly install an older version that would install it in the Old Location : Documents/ Virtualdj ? Thanks for any help in this matter.

I just recently did this. I used an external HD copied all my songs over from inside the VDJ program. This kept all my play counts. I then zipped the VDJ folder and copied it to the new one and I only took from this my playlists, history and m3u files. Kept a few other files but not much. Whether this is right or wrong it worked for me. New laptop running perfect.

I also copied my stems too. Wasn't sure this would work but it did. New computer is a beast was gonna just do realtime stems but decided to keep pre computing them.

Without guarantee:
I seem to recall that during the initial installation, you could manually change the default installation path—either `C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\VirtualDJ` or `C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Roaming\VirtualDJ`—
to `...Documents\VirtualDJ`.
That way, everything would remain just as it was before!

(Option 2: After installation, via the Windows Registry:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VirtualDJ
Modify the HomeFolder string.)
