Im new to virtualdj, I used OTS for the better part of 20 years. One feature I really miss is the ability to add commands in to the playlist. Example, enter a command to pause playback after a song. This was huge when mc'n weddings. I didnt have to hide behind the console to make announcements as the music would pause at the end of the song and I could be out front on the dancefloor.

front of house you want a powerpoint remote keeping it minimal, for full control you want the remote app. I think the powerpoint remote looks more professional/discrete.
Or if windows, virtualfx could do a thing, you could put commands in the track tags.
