Looks like video engine crashed, but not clear why
 

I think that’s the second time that’s happened in the last couple of months. Not sure what to do if there is no obvious reason. I think they were both distant versions as well.
 

Anything you remember from when it happened? (just loading a video/turning off video maybe,...?)
 

Both times recently it’s been in the middle of a video playing. Not doing anything else 😞
 

Is there anything I could try and change?
 

@ADION I've just been trying to replicate the crash as I've been having trouble with my Soundswitch program causing VDJ to crash. Can you check on the crashes from today to see if they are reporting the same error with the video engine or whether it's something different? I'm thinking it will be different as I don't have videos playing, but just wanted to check whether Soundswitch is the root cause of my issue. Many thanks!
 

No crash seems to have been logged today. Did VirtualDJ restart when it crashed?
 

No it just shut down. It's an ongoing issue with Soundswitch - when you close the soundswitch program it CAN cause VDJ to shutdown. They say it was fixed a while ago but I guarantee it's not! And their Customer Service is awful!

FYI My emails to them....
still have issues with SS and Virtual DJ. When I am using VDJ, I need to keep an active internet connection (WiFi or celluar) for the two softwares to remain in contact. If I disconnect my WiFi (or disconnect my phone when I'm using it as a hotspot), the link between SS and VDJ stops (Virtaul DJ highlighted name in SS goes grey). don't think it needs data form the connection as such, but just the connection to be there.
SOMETIMES, if I plug my phone back in or reconnect WiFi then the connection between the 2 will come back, but sometimes, I only get the highlighted name, not the blue dot (so effectively still not working.) . IThis then leads me to the other issue that SS supposedly fixed a while ago. If I shut down SS to attempt to reconnect, this causes VDJ to crash after a few seconds. SO basically if I lose my connection, there is no way to get it back again mid gig (although I shouldn't have to anyway)

If I use Serato, then I can connect / disconnect phone, wifi etc without any issue.

Despite lots of emails, no reply from SS since 7th November.....
 

I'm guessing if it didn't restart then it was just a 'shutdown' of VDJ caused by Soundswitch. If so, then that's different to the original crash I had.

I've tried changing 2 settings going forward:
Increased video memory to 2000mb
Enabled hardware acceleration option WXGA or something? Althoughthis may be Windows only?

I'll see what happens!
