Topic: VST or AU in VDJ?

is it possible to use third party plugins within VDJ?

Yes, download the AU/VST and move the dll/[.bundle for macs...?] to .....\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\SoundEffect [this is for x64 vsts]
 
IMO it's a pain in the a$$ that VDJ doesn't just use the default system VST directory, as the plugins do when installed, and as other software which uses VSTs does.

It’s good to hear it’s possible but your instructions are not clear to me.
I am using mac if that helps.
Can you revise your instructions and make them a little bit easier to understand please.
