I have noticed more often that the volume on some songs traumatically go up and down automatically. It is very subtle... almost hard to detect.
As a DJ and sound person I can definitely hear it but it is not all songs. I have had a party goer bring it to my attention and I find myself recently mixing the song out mid point in order to stop the volume fluctuation. Below is the equipment i use and everything is not super old.
VirtualDJ software
MSI Laptops
Denon DN MC 6000
EV 15" Powered Speakers
Please Help
Thank You
Larry

What is your autoGain setting at? At "auto", VDJ will attempt to keep all tracks at the same peak levels.
Are you adjusting the EQ (particularly, the bass) during your mixes (i.e. increasing the bass on the incoming track during the mix and reducing the bass on the outgoing track)? You didn't mention it's a bass-only issue, just thought I'd ask as you did say you stopped the problem by stopping the mix in the middle.

Also is there any chance you're hitting your speaker's limiter ? These days most self-powered speakers feature a DSP unit inside...
