make the waveform much thinner to move the decks up to see more of the browser.

How much thinner? If it's too thin, it will start to lose usefulness because of the reduced waveform height.

Remember you cannot please all the people all the time. Some people want a big wave, some want no wave, some want waves side by side....

How many wave options should VDJ have? 10? 20? Where do you stop?
 
The old one was or same size.

i think 2 different sizes would work. large and small

maybe 3 sizes, but i think most people would be happy with 2

I have been asking for the same many times. Two/Three sizes or even the possibility to remove the rhythm wave is a feature really useful imho.

I've got one were I swapped in the essentials sized waves in to the pro skin, but it breaks displaying all 4 scratch waves as the space is just too small, it looks silly. 2 deck looks just as fine as it does essentials.
It saves 36 pixels, so maybe 4-3 extra rows in the browser.
a bit of a surprise is the old default browser is exactly the same size as in new pro
