I would like better notification when I have unread ask.the.dj requests.
The first part would be to flash a pad or pads on my controller.
The second would be a large icon at the top of the skin.

I go with the second option. A nice window next to the search window. A slow flashing colored icon.

I was hoping for both. I'm often off to the side of the screen interacting with people. I might not see the screen right away.
Having the pad's flash may also be something I can add easily without waiting for someone to revamp a skin.

I don't know what variable to get for unread notifications.

Or why not a script verb giving the info to allow doing whatever scripter/skinner wants : 'visibility="ask_the_dj"' or 'ask_the_dj ? something : nothing'

Please add, as Script is a foreign language to me. Just a show or not show for us dummies. For the smart people you can add a script so they can have fun.
