I'm having issues where my ddi sr will just stop working this has happened to me a couple of times while djing a gig.... I get no sound or anything from vdj then when I power the unit off and shut vdj down it starts to work again.... can anyone help me figure out what is going on... my mbp is loaded I have an ssd hd and my ram is 16g.....

I would check USB connection. I would try different USB cables, and if possible different USB ports.
Also when the music stops I would try to unplug and replug the controller and see if VirtualDj picks up the controller again and keeps playing (of course that's a troubleshoot tip, not a permanent solution)
