Today i started from scratch.
Deleted everything.
Reinstalled VDJ7, set it up as it was originally, Created a keyboard mapper ( in VDJ7 it creates one called"Keyboard mapping") and got it working on Denon MC6000 (remembering to set up the sound)
I then set about installing VDJ8 Created a keyboard mapper ( in VDJ8 it creates one called"KEYBOARD - custom mapping Optional") Setup the sound for external mixer and the controller ( forgot this originally)
Used default mapper for controller so now in my mappers folder i only have Keyboard mapping and KEYBOARD - custom mapping Optional
For some reason i still can't map NUM1 and NUM 3 keys in VDJ8 ( can in VDJ7) on laptops but i used LEFT and RIGHT instead ( I will get used to key changes in time)
So At last i,m getting somewhere
