Video is private, but I think I know what you mean.

Yup we've discussed said issue in the regression threads and part of it is the physics of changing pitch (or key) increasing volume, but it does seem a bit much for less than +2% pitch, especially since 'the machine could deal with this technicality'* (Quote Atomix 'Why choose VDJ) so that some sort of AGC could normalize gain for any pitch or key change.
Staff input required.

In ver. 7 with MT on +-10bpm and no volume change, its a bug or something in the 8.

Any reference from the dev team ?

for sure is an issue in the engine and the GUI.

Until now, no suggestions...

did some testing if you set
zerodb 0.75
pitchQuality 0
autogain Auto

these settings will at least avoid clipping till there is a real fix

pitchQuality 0 is the right setting when using master tempo the gain is very minimal on my system with it set this way

im going back to 7 until this problem fixed...

pitchQuality should be set to 1 or 2, which were you using in the video?
Do you also see the volume changing when just moving the pitch fader, or is it only a problem when using the sync button?
Also, what is your autogain setting.

I tried, but I cannot reproduce this with pitchQuality 1 or 2.

pitchQuality on 2
auto+remember
the volume changing even when i just move the pitch fader a little bit up or down, the sync was for the video...
win 7, samsung i7 8gb, 2gb amd video card

Tested now
b1948
Pitch quality 2
Auto gain(remember) 0.0dB
Master tempo on
128 bpm Track at quartz lock in a 1/2 beat loop on a loud part of the track
get level reads a constant 65%
Increase pitch by 0.1%
get level reads upto 80% (varying)
Increase to +2%
get level reads over 90% (varying)

That means you approve my words...

is there going to be a fix for this bug ?

With the track in your video I can indeed also see the vu meter peaking higher, however it doesn't sound louder overall, so I don't think there's a real problem here.
It's just a side effect of the mastertempo algorithm that it can create short fragments that have a higher peak than the original, probably due to phase shifts.

You can see that the master vol is also going to the reds when the bpm is up or down what about that ??

I think what Adion was saying is that this increase in volume is so quick/short that although you can see a difference (the software is so quick it can detect a difference)
you can't hear a difference (which is the important bit) they could paper over this imperfection, (a less sensitive VU) but they don't need to change any thing about how pitch changes tracks.

You could prove it yourself by recording a track at a non quartz locked pitch and analysing and you'll find the difference in average output dBs negligible.
But you were right to bring it up, it looks like a problem, it's just that how it looks and how it sounds aren't related on this one.

Key change and volume change however could do with tweaking, but that's already in the wishes thread.

locodog Are you with me or against me ? There is a obvious problem with the master tempo, i work with VDJ 7 for 8 years Three nights a week and I have not seen anything like that.
And if there is reds in the master then it is clear that the volume up...
