Tear Em 'Up
My laptop, which is still in great condition, runs on Vista. How difficult is it and, how much work is involved with upgrading it from Vista to W7? I'm also considering upgrading the hard drive to a solid state hard drive. Any personal experiences you wish to share would be appreciated.

I did it, but you know I am not the sharpest knife, when it comes to computers. I did not do a complete format, and so all of the info from Vista was still there. As you know, I am not a laptop guy, so did not get around to cleaning it up. I use as a backup, and once had to do a night at the club with it. How old is your computer?

I would say it will cost min $300.00 with Win 7 and 128 SSD. You could probably do better, but that's a round figure. Time plus getting new drivers for this and that, and you are still, not using the latest. You could do all that, and the motherboard or video card, could take a dive. What about your RAM and processor, they are old school. If it's still running good, use as a backup, and buy a new machine. You are making the big money, go for it.

vista?...last time I counted you where on XP..ha,ha ... god knows I started computing on that,finally a drive crash got me to move on..but...W7 is a wise move..a clean install and google and find info on the adequate drivers and installing order.and of course save everything first...

I upgraded to Win7 as i found my vista running laptop always freezing. Any computer shop can instal a version of win7 for you. Since then absolutely no problems, and i do alot of karaoke. I can say i actually love win7 to use Vdj from. Good luck, hope this helps
