In the native mapping, most of the controls do what they say (See the DDJ-SX manual for more info - Where possible, most knobs/buttons perform similar functions.) You can see exactly what a knob/button does in CONFIG -> Mappers as above.

Pioneer DDJ-SX uses the built-in software mixer. Hardware mixer mode is not supported by the DDJ-SX unless you use a separate external DJ sound card.

Serato mode simply allows the software to control all aspects of the DDJ-SX directly, including the jogwheel position LED. In other software mode, this is controlled by the firmware of the DDJ-SX to support other DJ software that has limited MIDI mapping capabilities and as a result the LED can end up out of sync with the software. With VirtualDJ native support, you should use it in the default Serato mode.

Also, to be able to use the Pioneer DDJ-SX or any other MIDI controller, you will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Professional. If you like VirtualDJ Pro then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html (Especially if you are working DJ and are making money as a result of using it at your gigs.)

If you have already purchased then please register your Pro serial number on your account http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then download the latest version from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html
