So i'm checking my Facebook news feed, and i see this from Numark:


It's the mixdeck quad, coming out 3rd quarter 2011

all i have to say is.... dang :(

All of my prayers have just been answered if that crossfader is MIDI!! Frickin gotta get my hands on this!!

Huey, I posted the link on your FB page about 10 minutes after you posted here! I knew you'd be all over this.

There are no price points on it yet but it's not due to release until after July sometime.

Right on time. I was looking at the NS7 today. I am glad I am aprocrastinator.

The only thing I am concerned about with those are if something goes wrong with it, there is nothing seperate that you can still use like the mixer or a deck.
 
i'm pretty sure you'll see it in the upper hundreds, 1000s price range... but to have 4 sources running at the same time? not bad.

Man I just keep staring at the picture, I can't believe a company FINALLY made a ccomplete all in one unit!! I'm so excited!! Yeah i know im a dork but this is the first of its kind on the market...............I think.

Looks great - Guess I will be upgrading my mixdeck to this sometime in the future. It would be great to run the CDJ's on 1&4 while running 2&3 from VDJ

guys any idea on the price? will it be cheaper than NS6?
 
I really have no use for 2 additional channels, or the midi mixer just yet, so I'll be ok for a little while...although it does look pretty sexy.
 
I loved the original mixdeck but I didn't like the fact that the mixer area was not midi assignable. Numark finally seen the light with this version, should be a hit for them. I think I may just have to buy one of these units =)
 
they need a 4 deck version of NS7 with moving platters. Ns6 makes no sense to me because the main attraction to the NS7 is the moving platters!! with 4 decks you can run anything. CD's are so LAME use usb or portable hard drive.
 
NS7 is pretty cool but heavy, I think people now are after smaller stuff that is not as heavy to haul around. Well at least the mobile guys are.
 
CDs might be lame but have you ever tried to navigate an external drive with several GB's of songs on the small LCD's on something like this? it is a real pita. CD back up is more reliable and professional looking than relying on an Ipod if your computer goes out mid-gig. Using the mixdeck the change over is seamless and your client might not even notice the laptop went down. Sure you don't have ALL your music but with a couple hundred mix CDs and a printed index you can still cover a lot of genre's and find things pretty quick. That is the real advantage of the Mixdeck over other midi only controllers. If you don't want to have the CD option there are plenty of other 4 deck controllers out there.

The usb inputs are nice for flash drives with a playlist or maybe up to 100 songs or so but anything more than that gets to be quite tedious. I usually use mine for backup of the must haves the client has asked for in a single folder with printed reference list in the order they are in the folder or a backup playlist with up to 100 or so songs that would be appropriate for the event but the printed list really comes in handy when trying to navigate to a song those LCDs just are tough to see and navigate with. Would be nice of Numark would take gemini's lead and angle the LCDs towards the user instead of making them flush to the surface.

And in the unthinkable event your computer goes all to hell you can even book events using your CD backups to earn cash to replace the laptop :)

Another major bonus is the ability to play a client's CD or flash drive without the worry of contracting a virus on your computer.
