Hi, i just got bought a Netbook running Windows 7 Pro, 1 GB of ram, INTEL ATOM 32-bit operating system,
i installed virtual dj pro 7, and i am using a second sound card (NUMARK DJIO), but when i try to play a song it runs very slow and the sound is terrible, i already tried adjusting the latency on the numark driver but nothing changes.
Everything worked great in my desktop running vista 64-bit, i was thinking that it was my netbook's ram so i udated it to 2 gb ram. And the issue continues, it is very fustrating.
Any help or has anyone had this problem before.
Thanks

Hi, i have the same problem.. It wasn't happening on my 5years old notebook with celeron.. Is Atom worse or?? Maybe we have now bad drivers for our soundcard? or?
I have Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1.

I use a netbook as my backup laptop and it has no problems whatsoever, even running Asio on a Denon controller.
One thing I will say is putting Windows 7 on a netbook is a bit resource hungry and that may be the issue. XP 32bit is a far better choice.
Check your latency settings for the sound card and have a look at the startup items and the amount of free RAM.

Notice he said "backup" fellas. Save your money and just by a decent laptop. The shortcuts will only cost you down the road.

well sure it's not the best way to use netbook as proper notebook/pc...
but as i've read this thread:
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/105257/PC_Version_Technical_Support/_DPC_Latency_Checker_%28__2009_THESYCON%29_Helped_Me_Fix_My_Audio_Problems___.html
it seems that there are same problems with much much better pcs (4gb ram, 3times better hw etc..).
So now it looks like it's caused by Windows 7? or with some running processes, maybe by wi-fi...
i'll try the things from the thread and we'll see.
Then i can throw the crap out of the window ;))
..and, thanks Keith!

I have used an Atom powered Netbook (with DJIO) in one of my setups for over a year now with no issues - BUT....I am running 32 bit XP.
Win7, as previously stated, is a little bit too much for the Atom, so if you can install XP (easy when you say it quick :) ).
The spec of my Netbook is: Atom 1.6, 2Gb RAM, 80Gb HD, 32 bit Windows XP which shells directly to Virtual DJ 6.1.2.

Not to mention that the OP only has 1 gig ram with Windows 7. I had to run more ram than that with XP to get rock solid sound.

If you are being paid to dj a party, its best to have legit equipment. A netbook doesn't have near the processing power you need. I had a friend that had a windows 7 single core laptop with 3 gigs of memory and it couldn't confidently run Virtual dj 7.
