Hi
the djm 2000 offer a new 7 band frequency mix mode, which overhaul the typical crossfader.
I know my rmx has 7 knobs which i wouldn`t use if this feature can be integrated into the engine and a skin.
(2 high knobs, 2 mid knobs, 2 low knobs + left right knob)
The visualization is just another feature, the main thing is to get the 7 band freq to work properly.

have you actually used the djm2000 ?
can you set the freq.s on each opf those 7 bands? or are they preset?

Frequency crossfading can already be done. To use a 7-band EQ someone would could write a suitable plugin. I experimented with an alternative EQ engine plugin, as have a few others.

so i have to use a plug-in. I see there is a 16 and 32 eq plugins, so i would have to create my own plugin.
Can we assign this plugin to interact with knobs on a midi controller ?

Yes you can map plugin sliders to MIDI controls.
The new plugin would have to replicate EQ functionality and manually implement frequency fading between decks but it's entirely possible to do.
Personally I'll stick to my 3-band EQ and manual fading :)

well i mix electro, so when i heard that 7 band worked nicely and i have the knobs available, i prefer giving it a try.
My plugin spec :
Dsp plugins: Audio effects that interact with the sound.
Device plugins: Mappers that let you redefine how a specific hardware controller interacts with VirtualDJ.
A mix of both i think ?

No; the device mapper class is obsolete now anyway.
