You probably can plug it right in to the soundcard mic jack. Volume can be adjusted using the Windows volume control.
What won't happen is VDJ (in record mode) will not record what is input on the soundcard, only what is running through the software.

You can use the mic input at soundcard as well ;)

Audacity will record everything off the soundcard. You can get your Rap or even ebaums world w/music with Audacity. It is all free. Audacity can output to mp3 if you download Lame (also free).
