I'm a DJ that's had a unique opportunity throughout my career to experience a wide variety of settings. I started DJing with my father (who was also a DJ) as soon as I could reach the turn tables. I learned DJing through vinyl, cassettes and CD's, performing at corporate functions and private parties. I started DJing independently at the age of 15.
Fast forward a few years, and I moved into the club scene. Through various connections I became the house DJ at one of the biggest clubs in town in the second biggest city in the state. Fast forward a few years, and I moved into the club scene. Through various connections I became the house DJ at one of the biggest clubs in town in the second biggest city in the state. Though this club, I met many national and international bands and had the opportunity to perform with them. As I moved into working with high end customers, I also become the house sound engineer at the club. Taking on this role, I quickly learned the aspects of making performers sound out of this world. I routinely worked with singers and performers from TV shows such as: American Idol, The Next Great American Band, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Throughout the years, i've had many opportunities that work with various types of equipment, many different brands, and found a niche category that I fit in. Being able to make a performer sound great as a sound engineer, but to get as many, if not more people involved, as a DJ. My largest crowd to date has been ~10,000 people that i've performed in front of. Through my time as a sound engineer, and a DJ, i've come to expect a certain standard of expectation in audio, and will not skimp on anything less.
After many years of this work, I took a hiatus from this life. As fun as the weekend warrior DJ sounds, it can, and will take a toll after a certain amount of time. I took many years off, even sold most of my gear, but am now getting back into the field once again. I'm resurrecting my old DJ and engineering business, purchasing all new, updated equipment and slowly working myself back in the game.
The truth of the matter is that you know you have done well when, after years of being out of the game, that when you make a minor announcement of getting back into the swing of things, you are contacted by private parties, local bands, national bands, performers, and even your old contacts from production companies for TV shows to MC, run audio, and perform with. For that, i'm thankful for all my supporters, and hope for some more fun in the years to come.
