I have just got a Maxtor Basic Portable 320GB Hard Drive. I have put some video on it from my Laptop with XP on it the HD shows up strate away. but when i plug it into my gig laptop with Vista on, it don't show up i have tryed it on 2 laptop with vista & it just doen't show up at all. am i missing something simple...

Alright Steve mate, hows it going. I can't really help you. I have no problem with using my External harddrive on my old XP gig laptop and my Vista gig laptop I use now.
But I've just come across this post just below yours. It's not the same problem but it's sort of on the same lines.
