Topic: Hercules Rmx as mixer? - Page: 1

This forum is really helpful, and I appreciate that. Just another question:

If I, say, buy VDJ Pro and the thingy that allows timecode vinyl, could I use my hercules rmx as a mixer and connect it with 2 turntables? So I'd have a computer with VDJ Pro, the timecode vinyl converter, 2 turntables with timecode vinyl on them connected to the Hercules rmx as a mixer. Woudl that work?

Yes it would work.
i have i hercules mk2 and it works.... ( hardly ha, but thats considerin the problems i have)

I use two technics 1210 mk5g turntables with TCV on them, connected to my hercules mk2 but i have not bought vdj pro yet.
but yeah it works ... just make sure you set your sound card to ASIO not WDM.

Cool, sounds good.

Your turntables would connect straight to the back of the RMX, using Inputs 1&2 and 3&4, you would need no little "thingy" which I think you mean a sound card, as the RMX has a built in one. The RMX would then act as your mixer. Everything would work fine with VirtualDJ 5.2

Once your turntables are connected all you would have to do is slap a couple of timecode vinyls on, then do a little config in VirtualDJ, and there you go sorted mate.

Oh... I thought you needed a timecode usb box like virtualvinyl to do timecode solutions? That's what I meant by" thingy"... it would be quite badass if you didn't!

No, all, you would have to do is put the RMX in Asio mode, and away you go.

Oh. So what's the VirtualVinyl USB box for? Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand. I know SSL needs a $500 box to run, so I thought it'd be similar here.

It is just another kind of soundcard /audio interface for timescode usage and different grade. Ur rmx is also a soundcard and fall in the mid-range quality.

With VDJ, there are numbers of soundcard u can use but serato is locked to their soundcard/audio interface.

Also u need to upgrade to VDJ pro to use timescodes fully;)

I'm upgrading immediately. Hah. Thanks!

Congrats yangez n welcome aboard to the pro side.. ;)

Welcome aboard, and enjoy the ride.

Hey am a new dj (in the making). I have the hercules rmx dj console and Virtual Dj Pro. I'm thinking of getting turntables and timecoded vinyl. The advice I've seen always advices me to get the expensive technics and all, what's wrong with getting the $100 stanton T.120C?

The stanton are good too especially the t120;)

Going timecode route for TT, get the direct drive not the belt drive... that is most important. Also the cartridges makes a different too.

If I were you, I would go ONLY with Tecs 1200's or better or Numark TT500's or better.

Anything less and you will not be happy in the long run.
