话题: Video Output For Mac - Newbie . . .

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi. I want to buy Virtual Vinyl and im going to buy a new and much more powerful mac. This question applies to both at home and on stage. . . What is the video output on the mac? How do you video output to your tv or another monitor source for home and then how do you output in a club to a projector? Id really appreciate it if someone would throw me a few pointer. . .

Thanks, Ben :)

macbooks and macbook pros , have a mini dvi port

which you can use a apple adaptor to convert the output , to a VGA , DVI or svideo output

depending on which adaptor you buy,

VGA adaptor - for projectors

DVI full - For HD tvs and monitors

Svideo - for TVS

My Macbook Pro has a DVI port. I don't need the adapter.

At home I have a DVI (male that goes into computer) to HDMI (male goes into TV) cord that I use for video. At the club I have a conversion box which converts the digital signal from the computer (DVI out) into an analog signal (Component for the bars TV's which are all ran component).

All MacBook Pro's, Mac Pro towers, and the Mac mini have a full sized DVI port.

If you want to be prepared in any circumstance to connect to anything (composite, component, S-video, VGA, RGB), then I would HIGHLY suggest this converter that I've purchased, is natively compatible with both Mac and windows, AND is now on sale ($69.99)!

It actually doesn't look at all like that anymore. It's grey colored and looks a lot nicer.

Hi Conquest,
Do you know if this box will output s-video from the Windows side of Boot Camp on a Macbook Pro?

Thanks

It doesn't output svideo when running Windows via Bootcamp. It works fine under OSX, and Vista seems to "find" the dongle, but nothing is output. Very frustrating. Bring on VDJ 5 for Mac already!!!

I have a MBP 13" Unibody and I am wanting to use VDJ however what type of set up is needed to run multiple monitors. Splitters will not work on any Mac Laptop, Pro or otherwise. Surely somebody has multiple monitors/projectors when using VDJ.

I couldn't get my splitter for VGA to work on two monitors. Then I found out they make a mini DV to HDMI cable for the Mac. I purchased one and used a splitter (1in 4out) and have had no issues. Plus it is nice to know you can use up to 4 monitors. Beware of the splitters on EBAY. The prices are great but the shipping costs more than the actual product. Found my splitter on Amazon for $58 bucks and free shipping.

I have attached my macbook to another computer monitor and it's in "mirror mode". How do I get it to show only the video and not the mixer and everything?

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro i7 with a mini DisplayPort for external graphics. It is Bootcamped with Windows 7. I use the PC version of VDJ outputting video through the mini DisplayPort.

I use a mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. I then have a Kworld PC to TV convertor box. It plugs into the VGA adapter and outputs VGA, S-Video and Composite Video. I use the Composite Video to plug into the club system which is a 8 channel distribution system. The club has 6 flat screens of various sizes from 22" to 42" and a projector screen all running from the distribution box.

I have used my setup in several local nightclubs and they all use Composite Video for distribution. There was one local nightclub that had an ancient analog tv ariel system for distribution to old tv's, I used a digital to analog convertor box taking the Composite Video signal output and converting it to the required analog tv signal. This worked fine.

I have ran this system for 1 1/2 years on the Mac and used the same PCtoTV convertor box on PC for 2 1/2 years before that presenting 100% videos every weekend.

Not all MBP laptops have Full size DVI Port, I got a mid 2009 MBP 15" & I got a Mini - DVI Port on mine. Im sure the ones after mine are the Full size just to clear up any confusion.
