That's what's weird. The fan was still working; must have gotten out of whack
somehow.
Anyway in process of putting karaoke on drive now. This is
last step. Just hope when it's all done the saved database will
put everything back the wasy it was. (Cues comments etc)

Hmmm...weird indeed. You could try a small burst of compressed air on it to try and clean it a wee bit...or something a bit more drastic like a dunk in a sink full of water...lol
Seriously though...maybe it just got clogged. Might be worth taking the fan off the card and checking it out...or a tiny spot of oil on it? Although dismantling a graphics card is probably not really recommended!
