latency is getting lower and lower all the time as faster ports and slots are made so maybe one day it will be a thing of the past

at the moment crazy Japanese scientists are looking at using light to send data bettween compontents
hope they suceed

And this came shorty after Intel anounched their new quad core chips will have transistors the size of 2 nano meters to they can make much faster cores.
