Topic: Timecode more than 12 minutes...

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

HI,

Does anyone know if you can double the timecode from 12 minutes to lets say 24 minutes (or even more) by using SOUNDORGE and just connect the two 12 minute waves?

Seems like it would work.

anyone try it?

worth a shot if you could cut the start off the second copy and the end of the first at the right point

would have to be a seemless cut however

or confusing info would be sent

why not just disengage timecode and move the needle back to the start of the record?

then re-engage timecode....

why would you need more than 12 minutes? if you're playing a mix, then just disengage timecode....

Hey Steve,

the only reason I need more than 12 minutes is because in V4.2 there is a bug. No matter what timecode mode you are in, if the TC runs out the music stops and I just don;t want to take any chances.

I just tested extending TC in soundforge.

For all those who want more than 12 minutes, you CAN double it (or even longer) in soundforge and it works fine!!! (assuming you do a perfect edit)

enjoy,

It's already been concluded that the length of the timecode needs to be increased (and I think it will be soon), we are just yet to see it.

For those who don't use needle drop, they should make one side of the TCV concentric rings, so you could use it indefinately.

I now have 24 minutes TC and could make it 80 if I wanted.

Get soundforge if you need!

:-)

why dont you make a few at different times and offer them to users. 12 min. per cut is just fine, besides standard 12" singles come 12 min. per side

i think the timecode system that they used is used to its maximum length meaning that if they were to make longer timecodes they would have to use less timecodes per second or use a new timecode system.

Well CDs carry a bit more than 12 minutes of WAV Data so that should be taken advantage of. The Timecode CD has ran out for quite a few users, and in live situations causing non desirable behaviour.

It wasn't removed, it was forgotten in 4.2 when woring on new absolute mode.

So its a slip.... Its on nr1 on the fix list, as soon as Dev Team is back from Mac Camp (coding mac version like crazy)

yer that sucks, when are they going to fix that, it was fine as it was before then all of a sudden with the 4.2 the feature to go to internal mode (TC off) has just dissapeared.

if the timecode runs out, thats you fucked, crackle as the timecode gets queter and VDJ strugles to keep traking and then silence. not what users are looking for.

why on earth did they REMOVE a perfectly good feature, its just like the passthru feature that they got rid of for no good reason
