I've just installed 4.2r1. And, as soon as I used it for the first time. It started to pop and crackle, I do have the latest hercules update. But, with it plugged in or unplugged it continues to do it. Is it just me???

No I haven't updated DIRECTX. Should I try doing so? And my computer is Toshiba S1415 Satellite. Windows XP home edition, 2.0ghz Celeron processor, 512mb of RAM.
