Hello,

Ive just bought a set of Soundlab Speakers (Got them extreamly cheap) and now need an amp to power them. They are 650Watt RMS at 8Ohm, can someone confirm that I can run them from an amp with less power as I cant afford an amp that gives out 650RMS!!

I appriciate that the speakers wont be as loud with a smaller rated amp but thats ok as they are mainly for "bedroom" use anyway!!

Thanks for any replys!

yes they will work fine with any amp.

cheers! Talk about overkill or what! 650W RMS speakers for a bedroom with 15" cones!!! Still at least the neighbours will know about it!

Cheers.

just out of intrest how much did you pay for them and where did you get them from

Guy on ebay selling them, paid £70 for them. I think he made a mistake when setting the auction up (Didnt put a reserve price on them) hes got some more on there but hes set the reserve at £199!! They are a 'pair of soundlab 18" 1200W red carpet speakers' He has others on there of lower spec etc..

even quite nice still for 199

Yeah I know, thats why I couldnt resist them at £70, even though Ill never be using them at maximum capacity!!
