话题: DM2 and Virtual DJ and MIDI - Start Guide

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

To answer the question on how to get the two to work together this is what you do.

1) install virtual DJ
2) install DM2 to MIDI from http://www.pdoom.ch/dm2/
3) install Midi yoke from http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm

installing midi yoke will set you up with a bunch of virtual midi ports a bit like the midi ports on your sound card

4) open DM2toMidi and go to Options>Midi Settings.. - in the Settings window set up both midi in and midi out ports to "Midi Yoke NT 1", If these do not appear then you have not set up the Midi yoke up correctly.
5) Go OK and then go to Options>Midi Info.. Press the buttons on your DM2 pad and you should see it out put midi requests to the out field. this means that your communicating :o)

Understadning how the midi part works, if you go to >settings>scratch rings notice how the left scratch ring has at the top field "ctrl 12 (min=0, max=127)". what this means is that when you push the scratch ring it will output on midi program 12 a whole bunch of notes from 0 to 127. to test this go to the Options>Midi Info.. and push the ring forwards and back and see what it spits out. go back to the settings of the scratch rings and change tick the "invert" option. go back to the Midi info and you will see how the notes now go back and forth. You MUST play with the setting for you to understand what is happening.

IMPORTANT - YOU MUST HAVE DM2toMID open at the same time as Virtual DJ is open

6) start up Virtual DJ and go to the config>remote control> and enable midi
7) click ok save setup and then go to >Keyboard Shortcuts> Click add and select Truntable_control and then Play Select deck one from the drop down menu and then press a button on your DM2 pad. you should see Midi appear at the top. Click ok to save and close. Look at your list of shortcuts and at the bottom you should see your new short cut close out config.
8) close out put a tune on deck 1 and press the new button on your dm2 and hay presto.

Now setup each short cut for the rest of your DM2 pad.

IMPORTANT - I have not been able to figure out how to set up Volume or Scratch so could someone please help out here and please share with the rest of us if you learn how to do it?

Thank you
