I think I have figured out the .xml file for a skin by looking at the downloaded ones. Can anyone tell me what tool (software) is good at creating the bitmap image (.bmp) file? For example, it will let me easily creat buttons with shades and slides, etc. Thanks.

I use Paint Shop Pro. Cheap, but powerful. Layers is a definite must, so you can move elements around the skin easily. Its got plenty of features too to allow blending of layers and graphic elements, changing thier colors easily, etc.

Thanks. I guess I need to play with this tool for a while before I can make a skin myself. At the moment, I don't even know how to make a button with shades.
