I have a 4 channel Pioneer FLX10. It can connect to two laptops, but the only way to use them both is to have one set to use channel 1&2, the other on channel 3&4.
The faders are assigned 3,1,2,4. so one laptop has to use the inner 2 and the other the outer 2.
It would be good if you could choose to assign them as 3&1 and 2&4 which would mean each laptop would have its own deck and 2 adjacent faders on the same side. This would allow 2 DJ’s to go back to back with their own laptops and own side of the controller. Removing the need for them to work over the top of each other, keeping it simple, neat & fun

Given you have a DDJ-FLX10, each channel has a USB/Computer selector (A or B) that you can configure to do what you are mentioning. You can also change the fader assignment of each seck if necessary. You can also change the deck ordering using mixerOrder.
Is there something about the current capabilities that can't already achieve what you are asking, or am I misunderstanding the request?

Wrong.
Any of the two laptops can use ANY of the channels / decks / layers at any time, simply by switching the "SOURCE" switches on top of the mixer.
So, you are not limited in any way on how to use the available decks.
The only "limitation" is that if computer B uses the 2nd layer of the right side of the controller (channel 4) then in software it also uses deck 4.
However after switching over (unless you perform back to back) you can switch it back to using the first layer, thus decks 1 & 2.
Also this "limitation" applies to Serato and Rekordbox as well, since it derives from how the device was designed to operate.
