I'm a dance teacher and thought I would try out Virtual DJ, to see if it could be useful to me. And yes it is OK. However, I need to be able to either slow or speed up music, but I can't see a pitch slider. Is there one as this is vital for me.?

there are indeed pitch sliders - one on each side of the decks, but there's also key and pitch locks along with other auto settings that can get a little interesting.
the small gear icon with the double green boxes around it to the left also has a menu that opens if you click on it . there's one on each side of the decks

pretty much all skins have a pitch slider, unless you're using a custom skin.
the keyboard can be mapped to adjust pitch.
pitch +0.1%
pitch -0.1%
