Hopefully I explain this right.
I do not use the crossfader, but because I have Soundswitch I have to remember to move crossfader for lights to interact (unless I'm missing a setting in SS).
So VDJ question is ... is there a script that can be used to autocrossfade, that won't change the volume? I use my up and down sliders for voume and disable the crossfader and if not paying attention (yes I know "then pay attention") the crossfader stays on one side (1) and lights stop because I'm playing on (2).

SS has a setting for upfader mixing

if not using SS upfader :
you can set "crossfader_disable" not to modify volume, but it won't be automatic
So use "video_crossfader_auto" to auto crossfade without changing volume and "video_crossfader" to retrieve value instead of "crossfader"
make sure "video_crossfader_link" is off
