I just converted the mappings of 2 devices with pads to use page names instead of the new numbers way.
When i set one controller to a mode, it doesnt change the mode to the other device.
The only difference is perhaps what you see on the skin. With the old parameter the page changes on the "independent" controller were not changing the page you see on the skin Pads. But still the pads work as expected on the controller.
So the problem you had actually was skin-related ?
If not just that, can you point us to a specific case where the modes were changing on both controllers ?
E.g. name a combination of devices and post the actions assigned to their Pad modes to test here
