The upgrade to 2020, as some of you know was a horrible experience for me, as I pleaded for help and vented a lot. I lost a year's worth of color coding and color coding cue marks.
I got lazy and trusted clean upgrades. Version 2020 bit me for some odd reason. Perhaps it was because I had reverted to a previous version when EQ10 was changed.
Seems like plenty of others had no problem upgrading. I don't get it. It's been a battle.
I have a request in the wish list to add "full backup" during the "do you want to upgrade?" data box we get often lately. That's what got me. I always trusted the upgrades. Fortunately I had an Acronis backup TIB. But it was a year old.
I hope they can imbed this as a new feature soon. Keep it simple. Upgrade available. Backup = Yes. Upgrade now? = Yes.
Got all my virtual folders restored. What a relief. Phew!
I had a lot of database.XML backup files. Finally found the missing critical folders.
But I have to say the upgrade was worth it. I love the improvements
Key is now in alpha instead of numeric. I had manually changed it to alpha in the XML at one time, until an upgrade pushed it back to numeric. All good now.
My favorite upgrade which I can fully appreciate is how the program is color coding the cue marks. My guess is you are using the "spectrum" energy of the track to assign a color. I'm impressed.
It's very close to what I have been doing manually. Like a de-crescendo is a shade of blue. Hi energy of the track is a shade of red. I've been leaving several program assigned colors alone. It's a great piece of work. Thanks Atomix. You're the GREATEST!
I'm guessing I'm down to under 100 hours of restore time. A few hours every night. I'll get there. The upgrade has been worth the fight.
Also got the effects to align properly with ONINIT. I forget who it was LocoDog? that showed the effects could be aligned as I like them. Now I can add new effects and they all align up to the right. Beautiful.
I would still appreciate if we can scale them. I have a request in the wish forum.
Thank you gentlemen. Your Genius is recognized.
