i have as a gift a xdj rr. but its not opened yet. i have a massive amount of vinyl i want to sort through. and need the unit to at least be able to playback a vinyl or listen to them. NOT mix with it.
i plan on using vdj when and if this is possible.

Why don't you read the manual (online)?
In less than five minutes I have used Google to find that it has an aux input which can be used for line level or "portable" (which probably means phones etc).
Therefore you would need a pre-amp to use it with a turntable - assuming your turntable doesn't have line level output, because you didn't say what turntable you have.

well this is funny. and sorry if i was cranky. i was given an xdj-r1. i just opened my gift. not what i was expecting. but it will do the job. and it has built in phono and the tt is playing now.
now its driver time.
with all the pionner names ddj, xdj, rx, sx, i guess this can confuse someone when buying a gift. :)=

Well the R1 isn't far behind! I certainly wouldn't mind being gifted one of those.

the r1 was about 1000 euros not too far from the rr. its working very well. if i was going to be using rekodbox i would maybe care. but im good.
