Is there a way to automatically subscribe to threads in which I post by default? It's easy to forget to click the subscribe button. Many forums have an auto-subscribe option. Thanks!

There's a bell icon. Just click that and you'll get email updates.

There is no automatic way to subscribe to a forum.
But when you are at the top level of the forum you should see additional buttons "My Topics", "My Posts" at the top of the forum section.
After clicking on one of them you get an overview of your topics. If the Icon is lit blue, there is a new post to it.
