DJ VooDoo
Hello, 1st let me say I am no stranger to VDJ and kind of know my way around a computer. This issue is on my desktop computer and not my Dj laptop. I read past posts and nothing has helped as of yet. Monday 3/26 was the last time I used VDJ with no issue. It was running fine prior to that. I have not changed anything. Here is my set up and what I have tried so far. This is without having a controller attached.
What I have done / checked so far
I check the file permissions and all of that seems ok
I uninstalled (including the VDJ folder in my documents) and re-installed VDJ 3 times and it still does not work
I cleaned my registry and that did not fix it
I did a factory reset on all settings and that did not work

If you delete settings.xml from /Documents/VirtualDJ folder, open VirtualDJ and then close, does it re-generate the settings.xml file ?

I just tried running as admin... that did not work.
I cut the settings XML out of the VDJ folder in documents, launched VDJ, adjust some settings closed it and it did not regenerate another settings XML. I relaunched VDJ and it did not hold my changes I made.
The changes I am making a standard. The skin/interface. Setting a favorite folder in the browser. Hiding online folders.

Your Main Hard Drive (where VirtualDJ is installed) is having the letter C: or some other ?
Right-click on /Documents/VirtualDJ folder
- first tab "General" : Read only ... is not checked, right ?
- Security tab. You/Admin has "Full Access" ?

A few weeks ago I had an issue with not being able to write certain files (generally, not just in VDJ) and it was being caused by "controlled folder access" in Windows Defender. There's an option to allow an app through. Might be worth checking.

@ groovindj, that is exactly what it was. I clicked it off, opened VDj, made some changes and it held.
