my brain that is, ive spent the last hour trying to figure out how to use my SB2 sampler pads.
current map seems to do
if sampler button is selected, i get 4 pads with pre set samples. but i cant figure out how to use the other slots. i thought that shift + pad (1-2-3 or 4) would probably play samples 5-8.
however it stops the sampler.
if i hold shift and press the sampler button i get to cycle through other sample banks. but again i can only play and stop 4 samples within the bank.
what i want to achieve is some how use my pads as an 8 pad drummer / sampler etc.
i also want to be able to record samples.
can someone please explain how the sample banks work on the SB2? my brain is broken!!

As explained in the manual http://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/pioneer/ddjsb2/pads.html if a Sampler Bank has less than 5 samples, both sides will play the same samples, and if more than 5, left side will play samples 1 to 4 and right side samples 5 to 8.
In both cases, the SHIFT+PAD will stop the sample. This is the default shift action for a Pad when the Sampler page is selected, in order to be able to stop the sample if the stutter or Unmute trigger mode is selected.
You can try to assign ..
SHIFT_SAMPLER_PAD1 as .. sampler_pad 5
SHIFT_SAMPLER_PAD2 as .. sampler_pad 6
etc
but keep in mind that the implemented definition file has a sampler matrix of 4x1x2 for this unit, so it will still show 4+4 samples in the Sampler Sideview
BTW, i suppose, u still need to keep the low pads as transport buttons (play, cue etc), right ?
