Hi, can someone explain how this new option works? If I play 24 bit music with virtual dj, does it convert to 16 bit and back to 24 bit if I use the Denon MC6000mk2 as controller and soundcard? Or does it record directly from the internal 24 bit mixing processor in the Denon? The controller has 24 bit internal mixing feature, but the soundcard is only 16 bit. Sure I could do some testing and see if I get stairs in the soundwaves, but I would like to hear an expert explain the feature detailed. :)

If you use master/headphones configuration then recording is done directly within vdj, so you will get the full 24-bit used.
VDJ does convert 24-bit input files to 16-bit though, so the 24-bit result is only useful with regards to the mixing and processing vdj does.

Ok so that means that recording of mixing with 16bit files or 24bit files will give the same result with 24 bit recording?

Yes, the main difference is due to mixing. If a track is playing at 50% volume, you would have only 15-bits of dynamic range left in the final recording.
In the 24-bit recording, you could increase the volume during playback again and still have the full 16-bits of the source file left.
You would also have a little bit less aliasing distortion.
The main use of the 24-bit recording would be when you want to use the recording for processing later on. (Using it as part of song production, or applying compression/mastering to your mix before publishing it for example)

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. :) Btw, do you know if 24bit recording with VoxengoRecorder plugin does exacly the same job? It is also capable of 32 bit float...

VST plugins get the samples from vdj in 32-bit float, so yes it should be capable of making a true 24-bit recording as well.
