What happened to the songs we can download that we pay for? Half of them are shitty remixes, the other half aren't even titled right. BPM's are off. What happened to what we pay for?

Grooveshark is not used as content provider anymore. The company was shut down a couple of years ago
Regarding the quality:
You have access to two sources: Content Unlimited Audio and Net Search
Content Unlimited is validated content, in my experience always of high quality, and you often get a few mixes to choose from (single, extended, clean and so on)
Content Unlimited tracks are marked with red icons in the standard skin
Net Search content is free content from around the net. This is not validated content, so you have to check the content before using it
Net Search tracks are marked with a purple icon in the standard skin
You can disable Net Search results from your searches if you don't want it
