Topic: Colored Wave Forms?

In VDJ8 are the colored wave forms limited to frequencies only? Or will I have the ability to highlight (color) sections of the wave or the entire wave if I choose? For example I have a few songs that have great deal of profanity in one of the verses. Great songs but I am limited to where I can play them. It would be nice to be able to highlight that section or blacken it to warn me so that I could prepare to mix/cut/cue it out. I thought of using a cue marker but all the markers look the same. In fact colored cue markers could work as well.

If you search for videos of v8 you will see there is going to be new timeline and points of interest features that should work for you. So save your money so you can upgrade and download the day of release:-)

Checked out the video (part 4) which made me very excited about VDJ8. Then I realized it was posted Augusta 2012. Fingers crossed for released version soon.
 
Why wait, buy it now, and when it comes out, you get the upgrade free. Or you could buy the clean edited version of the song, and not have to worry about the cursing.

The problem I have is that some clean version are difficult to find or do not exist. In fact I purchased a few versions that were crap because of the way they were edited. Until VDJ8 is released using an audio editor, remembering the locations of the profanity or avoid playing the songs will be my best options.
 
If a clean version does not exist, don't play the song. I have never had a song that was that important. Ever.
 
You could probably use SBDJ's "cue macro" plugin on windows in the mean time. You would just set a cue on the swear word and tell the plugin to activate the dump function or the "forward reverse" plugin, then once the swear word is passed disable it with another cuepoint. You would get an effect similar to Missy Elliot's bleeping of swear words in a lot of her songs. You would need to upgrade to VDJ Pro and be using a PC though.

the mapping for a couple of buttons could be something like this, if you hold the button for half a second then release it will delete the respective cue, otherwise if you release the button before half a second you will set the cue and the cue name that SBDJ's plugin will read:

holding ? delete_cue 6 : set_cue 6 & cue_name 6 "`dump on`"
holding ? delete_cue 7 : set_cue 7 & cue_name 7 "`dump off`"
