Hey guys,
I decided to get my old midi fighter outta the storage and tried to map it to the new VDJ 7.4. I'm trying to get the top 4 buttons to activate the loop roll on deck 1, and the second row of 4 buttons to activate the loop roll on deck 2. Fairly straightforward I thought, so I mapped it like this:
Top 4 Buttons
Button 1: deck 1 loop_roll 1 while_pressed
Button 2: deck 1 loop_roll 0.5 while_pressed
Button 3: deck 1 loop_roll 0.25 while_pressed
Button 4: deck 1 loop_roll 0.125 while_pressed
I mapped the the next row of buttons similarly, except they were mapped to deck 2. Row 1 works fine, but Row 2 for some strange reason stops working after I switch the active deck to another deck. What is stranger is that when I go back to the mapper, I realised that row 2 is sending me different midi notes. I tried re-mapping row 2, but was faced with the same issue, it started sending me different midi notes again. I might add that I'm using the simple midi wrapper. Any ideas how to resolve this?
Another issue I realised with the loop_roll command is that when you activate it when the track is not playing, it still moves the track forwards when the effect is de-activated. Not sure if the team intended for it to work this way, but I think it would make more sense if it didnt do anything if the track was not playing.
