Topic: Win8 Pro + Mapped Drive

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hello gang,

I have moved to Windows 8 and I am reconfiguring VDJ but for unknown reasons the map drives are not showing up in VDJ. These drives are from another machine here in my apt. that this machine can view and play files via Windows File Explorer. The drives are mapped as M and Z, but do not show up under the "Computer" tree node in VDJ. Another interesting item is that under the VDJ tree "Desktop", then "Network" I can see the other machine, but it's share do not show up.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Interesting. I don't have a setup on Windows 8 to test, but I'm guessing that the API that VDJ uses to get the drive list no longer behaves as it used to.

This is a longshot, but it's worth a try:

Let's assume your network drive is N:\

Before you start VDJ, pick a new drive letter, say X:.

Open a command prompt by pressing WindowsKey+R and typing CMD.

Type SUBST X: N:\
Type EXIT

That should create a "virtual" X: drive that's identical to N. Now start Virtual DJ and see if the X: drive appears in the list.

That got me somewhere.... but not where I want.

My music files are mapoped as drive Z. So I ran
SUBST X: Z:\

and got back; "path not found - Z:\"

Although I can open "File Explorer" (Previously Windows Explorer, previously File Manager, etc) and I can select Z: in the address bar. I'm gonna go hunting for more info but I thought I should post here too.

I'm running Win8 Pro 64bit 16gb ram. (if any of that matters)

James
