I run Virtual DJ 7 with 4 decks with a Denon DN-MC6000. I like most things about this except for one thing. Auto gain. It doesn't work right, and I prefer to set the gain myself. So i went in the config and disabled auto gain. Say for one song I have the gain set to 2.5 db. I play that one and fade to the other deck. When I load a new song on it, every time, the gain still changes. For example, it would change now to 5 db and it messes it up and I need to turn the knob a little for it to start regestering again. And sometimes the gain is completely messed up. Even when I have it at 20 db on the board, it shows up at (Example) -3.2db and it is too quiet to play. I want the gain to be where I put the knob, not where the computer determines that it should be. I checked numerous times and it says disabled, but this always happens. What can I change to make it not do this?

Unfortunately the MC6000 works as midi mixer in 4 deck mode. So the gains will always control the gain of the software.
If you disable Gain from the options, the songs will be loaded with the original recorded level. So if a song was ripped and imported with -5db, it will be loaded with -5db.
The best option is to set the Gain to Auto or Auto+Remember from the options and make small adjustments with the Gain knobs of your Denon. With Auto Gain, the software will bring all songs to 0db when loading.
You can also try to map the gain knobs of your MC as .. gain_relative. Might help.
