Hey guys,
I was thinking about buying Fl Studio to create my own samples and I was wondering if it would be possible to make samples in FL studio and then incorporate them in virtual DJ.

yes you can do that, the sampler will play any wav or mp3 file, but if you want the samples to beatlock when looping you need to first load the sample on a deck, set the beatgrid by right clicking the bpm tap button. once that is done set a loop and press record on the sample slot, then remember to save the sample before you change it or quit.

You can also use rewire to make vdj control fruity's transport although it's better with ableton clips. I think fruity is much easier at creating tracks with a mouse though so a good option, ableton is better at playing tracks and recording scores.

I'm having trouble loading a sample that I created and saved earlier.
I recorded what I wanted to create as a sample.
Clicked Save and renamed the sample.
It "saved" and replaced the name at the bottom of the sample deck to what I just named it and it works fine.
However, when I close VDJ and reopen it, click Load on the Sample deck, select the one I just "saved", it doesn't load.
Am I missing something? The file is still there in my Samples folder, it just won't load.
I have a Mac and have the VDJ Pro edition. Any help would be awesome, thanks!

you need to click the bullseye and select "save"

He switched to using Reason over Fruity Loops, lmao!! I'm playing but seriously Reason sounds so much better then FL...
 
Whenever it asked me to name the Sample (after clicking save), I was deleting the entire sample name and not leaving in the " .vdj "
For example... I renamed my sample "EpicMotherrF_cker" instead of "EpicMotherF_cker.vdj"
