话题: Key lock / Tempo Range explanation?

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Ok, so I have the idea of what the key lock function does. But what about the tempo range function? It's displayed in percentages beside the key lock and can be adjusted to various %s. Could anyone explain to me what this is for? Thanks!

it changes the amount you can adjust your tempo with. eg if you are playing a track that is 100bpm at a pitch range of 6% it means you can slow down or speed up the track by 6bpm either way. If you change the range to 12% you can then move the pitch by 12bpm either way... you need to also understand that if you increase the pitch range you decrease the sensivity of the slider, meaning if you have the range at 6% you will get around 0.01bpm increments, however if you double the range to 12% so to do the increments to 0.02bpm. Finally the tracks original bpm is a factor of how much a track will slowdown or speed up at a particular range eg. a 128bpm track at 6% will slow and speedup 7.68bpm which is 6% of 128. to work it out the amount use this simple formula.

orig bpm / range X 100 = bpm
128 / 6 X 100 =7.68

if you wan't to add it up quicker you can just multiply by a decimal
128 X 0.06 = 7.68

this isn't maths though, it's djing.... best way to understand something is to try it out and see what it does.
