Hi all,
i recently bought a hercules 4mx and when iam using it with the pc it works just perfectly. but when i try using my macbook air the headphones will play my cue and mixes but without any bass. i thought it were my headphones but when i use them normally in my ipod or something it works again. i have tried changing settings in the vdj config and in the hercules driver but no luck. can anyone please help me??
iam playing my music trough a stereo set with the rca plugs.

As a test, connect your speakers to Output 3-4 to see if you're having the same problem.
Since Output 3-4 and the headphone output received the same signal, you should normally get the same result.
Also , the problem is the same on both headphone connectors?

thanks but didn't work still getting this hallow sound out of it tried everything you said but no luck!!
any other ideas??

Just read your original message again and noticed that you are using a MacBook Air, and that got me thinking that this could have something to do with your problem.
Given that this type of computer is conceived for low power consumption, it's possible the USB ports may not get full power, which could result in audio problems. I've never encountered anything as specific as what you are experiencing, but I wouldn't be surprised. There were know issues with some Macbook USB port in the past (see following FAQ)

Thanks for the info but when i try to open the pdf file it says the server is out (tried on both computers)

I just repuluged it in my pc and the same thing is happening with the headphone output audio.
could this be because of an update??

If the problem is also present on PC, then it is most likely something wrong with the hardware itself.
Press and hold the MIC button on the console while connecting the 4-Mx to the computer until the fimrware updater is automatically launched. Proceed to the follow the instructions on screen.
Once the update is done , test the headphone output again to see if the problem remains. If so, then a replacement would be in order.
