Hey Everybody,
I use VDJ 7.05 PRO with the Numark Mixtrack Pro. It has been working flawlessly other than one little annoyance. Whenever I load a track into a deck, the gain doesnt stay @ 0. Sometimes it goes to -8dB other times its @ +5db. For this reason, the songs are not at the same level when mixing. I have looked over the settings and set the "Auto Gain" to all of the selections and it stil doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas?
Also,
Can anyone walk me through mapping one of the mixtrack pro faders to be the gain on each deck?
Thanks a lot

If you've "set the auto gain" (presumably meaning you've turned it on) then that's why the tracks are loading at different dB levels.
That's what it's supposed to do!
If you want every track to load without the software making adjustments, you have to turn auto gain off.
But then, because the Mixtrack Pro has no metering or gain controls, you will have to adjust the levels of each track
to 0dB by using the onscreen mixer controls with your mouse or trackpad, which defeats the object of having a controller.
That's the market level at which the Mixtrack products are aimed. The non professional users who don't care or know
about gains etc. and just want (or expect) the computer to take care of it.
You win some, you lose some! You've got a cheap controller, but you don't have full control.

Thanks a lot for the response. Is there a controller that you can recommend that would give me the functionality needed to manage the gains from the controller?
Thank You

Here's a video I made, this might help you with learning how to map a controller. http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/beatbreaker1/blogs/4503/How_to_Map_a_Controller_or_Keyboard_________.html

You can also run your MP3s through MP3Gain, it's free software and adjusts all the tracks within 1.5db of each other.
That way you can turn off the gain adjustment in VDJ.
I have used it for years and it's great.
