I have version 7 of VDJ and an MPD 18 that I want to use along with it to trigger samples/effects. I've searched the internet to find a way to use the two together and found nothing basically. I've searched through the config window a bunch of times but couldn't find anything relating to recognizing my MPD18. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or help they could share on which route I should take to get these two working together.

if you want to use vdj with something other than the mixtrack pro, you need to get the full version. upgrading should be cheaper since you already have LE so you won't need to drop $330. Once you have pro you can either map the mpd with vdj script, or if you are just doing basic stuff like triggering effects and samples and do not need any advanced functions like having buttons do multiple things, then you can just use the midi learn function
i would recommend learning vdj script though. I don't know any programming languages or anything, but picking it up was pretty fast, and once you know it you can do a whole lot more than you would even think possible with vdj (:
