So bought the device today and istalled the software on the disk yet it wont detect my VSM4. does anyone know how to fix this?

It's a VMS4, not VSM4!
Need more info.....
What computer system are you using? Mac or PC? What operating system?
You say you "installed the software". Which software? How did you go about installing (what steps did you take)?
When you say "it won't detect", how are you determining this? What exactly is happening?

I just bought my VSM4 too but when im recording a mix, its recording it weird. when dj-ing it sounds great! but when i hear the recording, i could hear both channels playing in the same time. Any help :(?? it only happens when im recording it :/

This is because the mixer part of the VMS4 is a real analogue hardware audio DJ mixer.
