I'll be interested to get a better look at Numark's NS6 as well - looks like its their answer to the Pioneer deck, but probably for a lot less cash... and if the build quality is anything like the NS7, it could be strong competition as well...

Yup, your price estimate sound about right for Pio gear! I'm almost willing to bet it will cost more!
The thing I like about Pioneer is that their jog wheel technology is very good so I have high hopes for the jogs on Pio's new controller.
I'm still waiting for their official press release proclaiming how this is the first 4 channel midi controller and a new species of controller lol
Rumor has it the Serato version will work with both Serato Scratch Live (2 deck support only) and Serato Itch (4 deck support), but the cool thing will be that you will not need the damn Serato Box, you can finally ditch the box, one less thing to worry about plunging in. I'd be all over this if I was a Serato DJ, im sure we will get a new VDJ update soon with native support for these nice looking units =)
M-@*#*o (I gave you the 1st and last letter of the company as a hint, you figure out the rest) is working on a secret project, I had to sign a contract so I can't gave any details but you heard it here first....keep an eye out for M-@*#*o. Should be released at NAMM.
I remember a few years ago we couldn't even get a DJ MIDI controller and now look at all these new toys coming our way =)

You get what you pay for. This is Pioneer quality.
I'm very impressed...

The DDJ-S1 will cost 1425 euro and the DDJ-T1 will cost 1225 euro. This is in sweden but i don't know if these prices will hold when it is relesed in february (T1) and April (S1).
For a 4 deck controller it is almost twice the price as for the Traktor Kontrol S4 and the Denon DN-MC6000.

Based on those prices, they are priced to compete with A & H equipment.

Actually the S-1 has been announced to cost 1599$ and the T-1 1299$.
The T-1 will also include a FULL version of Traktor software (not LE). I'm not sure about the S-1 if it comes with ITCH though, but it must (hence the price).
The only sad thing about these two units is that they don't have a hardware mixer. They have an auxiliary port that will allow it's signal to pass-through to the master output but there's no way to control it's sound level. In other words you'll still have to use a SECOND mixer connected on the auxiliary port if you want to use anything more than your laptop (e.g. standard CDJ's / TT's)

DJKIT (UK Supplier) have them listed for pre-sales at £899 - http://www.djkit.com/product.php?id=7413
I do like the fact someone has thought about making the casing so that you can slide the laptop underneath...makes for a more integrated look...

Yeah, and what about keyboard access for searching songs?
Mind you, a lot of club DJ's work from a preset list so it'll be perfect for them.
It also doesn't appear to be paired with VDJ and no word of native mapping. I'm really glad I went with the Denon MC-6000

Man I like the size but I think they got it wrong by not making this a full hardware mixer also like the MC6000.
No usb inputs, no balanced outputs, no LED display, no IEC power cord supply, only 1 mic input. Are the hardware developers even listening? You'd think they would be able to better the products that are out there already instead of copying each other.
I wonder what new products denon have up their sleeve...

Ok this is a better breakdown
http://www.skratchworx.com/news3/comments.php?id=1611
The 2 channel on paper looks better with more professional outputs/inputs but obviously lacks the extra 2 channels. The placement of the cue points vertically is a bit of surprise.

Yeah, its going to suck if its not an analog mixer also, it makes the Denon unit look even more appealing.
I predict at next years NAMM they will come out with a new version that can be run as a stand alone analog mixer, they will then make the claim of being the first to do this and add another $1000.00 to the price =) LOL
