I'm a DJ on a budget and have a Hercules RMX and love getting the most out of it. I think i have some pretty cool mappings and would love to see what you guys have as well so we can all bounce ideas off of each other.
a mapping for 4 decks with only a 2 deck setup:
action_deck 1 ? deck 1 leftdeck ? deck 3 leftdeck : on & deck 1 leftdeck : deck 2 rightdeck ? deck 4 rightdeck : on & deck 2 rightdeck
i have this mapped to my source button since i do not use it at all. this mapping is so that when you do press the source button on the left deck, it will switch from deck 1 to deck 3. same thing with the source button on the right deck. it will switch from deck 2 to deck 4. simply press the source button again and it switches back between the 2.
controlling effects parameters.
DECK 1:
[PITCH SLIDER] deck 1 effect slider 1
[BALANCE KNOB] deck 1 effect slider 2
DECK 2:
[MASTER VOLUME SLIDER] deck 2 effect slider 1
[GAIN KNOB] deck 2 effect slider 2
the effect slider 1/2 is parameter 1 and 2 of the effect. activate the effect and play with the mappings.
you might be wondering why i use those knobs and sliders.
PITCH SLIDER - i have no use for it because i only play house music and all the songs are usually between 126-130 BPM. i'd rather just hit the sync button while the song is paused to get it to the right BPM.
BALANCE KNOB - no use for this either. i wouldn't really see why anybody would have a use for this. why would you want music to only come out of one speaker instead of both?
MASTER VOLUME SLIDER - just turn it down with the mousepad in virtualDJ. master volume isn't a big deal with me
GAIN KNOB - same thing as the master volume slider. just turn it up or down manually in virtualDJ
that's about it really. hope to hear some of your guys' input and ideas.

if you leave out the "deck" part of the mapping for the effects you can just use the balance for effect 1 and the gain for effect 2. if you leave out "deck 1" or "deck 2" and just put "effect slider 1" and "effect slider 2" assigned to those knobs, they will control whichever deck you are currently on. saves you from having to map 4 knobs. just have to map the 2 knobs and no matter how many decks you use those will work for whatever one you are currently on. that's how i have my balance knob mapped. i use my balance knob for effect slider 1 as well. mainly for filter sweeps. but yeah i just have it mapped to be "effect slider 1" and no matter what deck im using it works.
